Northern Ireland and Scotland have already instituted eye screening every two years for diabetic patients who are thought to be at low risk of eye complications.
Wales are now adopting this screening interval as well and England will follow suit from this coming October.
I am a Scottish doctor who is working to improve the outcomes for people who have diabetes using a low carb diet, and advanced insulin techniques when necessary. Professionally I provide expert witness reports in the clinical forensic and family medicine areas and I also provide complementary therapies. I enjoy cooking, cinema, reading, travel and cats.

No thanks, i will stay with one per year and be delighted doing it. One every two scares me to no end. In reality I do them every six months, my mom lost her vision because of retinopathy. I am so hopeful I never have to face that.

I think people with existing proliferative retinopathy will be seen more frequently.
